Subscribed databases


The Library and Information Centre (KIK) of John von Neumann University provides access to the following databases in 2023:

 

Academic Search Complete (EBSCO)

Academic Search Complete is the world's most valuable and comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 9.500 full-text periodicals, including more than 7.500 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 12.500 journals and a total of more than 13.200 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc.

 

AKJournals 

Akadémiai Kiadó’s journal package consists of 48 active and 16 archive international and domestic journals disseminating a wide range of new results from the various domains of natural, social, and medical sciences. The periodicals in 40 disciplines as published by the Akadémiai Kiadó. The articles are searchable by author, title and abstract and their full text can be downloaded in pdf in the same format as the print copy, going back to 1998.

 

Electronic reference service of Akadémiai Kiadó (MeRSZ)

It provides library users with an unlimited access to the continuously expanding electronic collection of basic and reference books. (Placement of bookmarks; note taking and printing; mobile application for iOS and Android; digital object identifier (DOI) for every publication.)

 

Cambridge Journals Full Package

At Cambridge University Press, we currently publish more than 380 peer-reviewed academic journals covering subjects across the humanities, social sciences and science, technology and medicine.

 

JSTOR (Business and Economics  and  Sustainability)

Full text database of more than 1,300 prestigious scholarly English language journals. Archive access covers from the very start of publication to a cutoff point around 5 years ago. Each year another year's worth of back content is added to the archive. Journals are grouped in several subject categories, principally social sciences and humanities. The full list of titles can be found at the Jstor site. The JSTOR Sustainability collection is composed of academic and open policy research on environmental stresses and their impact on society. The collection looks at sustainability and resilience through a broad lens, spanning over more than 30 disciplines. It features 115 journals that are all new to JSTOR and over 5,400 open research reports from more than 30 policy institutes.

 

L’Harmattan

The reader can access 1 599 books and 437 849 fully searchable, digitized book pages, even from home. By digitizing and publishing around 100 new books each year, L’Harmattan Publishing aims to provide up-to-date scientific content to readers interested in higher education, the research community and educational literature.

 

NAVA (National Audiovisual Archive of Hungary)

It serves as a single central archive to collect, preserve and provide access to the programmes of all the major national television and radio stations. NAVA also provides access to 100 Hungarian fiction films from the Hungarian National Film Archive, the exam projects of the University of Theatre and Film Arts, University of All Knowledge public lectures and Mediawave festival films.

 

Osiris e-books

Scientific, academic and high standard educational books. The company publishes about 200 titles a year. Classical works of human and social sciences (anthropology, film theory, philosophy, theory of literature, jurisprudence, ethnography, linguistics, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, history, theology).

 

Oxford Handbooks Online (Business and Management  and  Economics and Finance)

The full content of Oxford Handbooks Online is available to institutions as a complete collection, a per module basis, or as a one-time purchases of individual titles. Business and management research is pluralistic and is both informed by and informs other social sciences, including economics, psychology, political science, sociology, and anthropology. From cognition to culture, from incentives to motivation, and from institutions to individuals, the fields encompass a variety of human behavior. Review essays reflect this diversity and have been selected to provide authoritative overviews of research on important topics and topical issues. Economics, as a field of study, is diverse in the topics it encompasses and the methods or techniques it uses. It explores decisions and choices under constraints of individuals, groups, firms, governments, or societies. The issues studied cover a broad range, for example, from health and education to crime and punishment, from revenues and expenditures of governments and companies to how individuals respond to incentives, and the conditions of cooperation, coordination, or conflict.

 

ScienceDirect (Elsevier)

Elsevier's full-text multidisciplinary database provides access to the texts of the most respected scientific journals. The content is primarily outstanding in the fields of technical, natural and medical sciences, but the social sciences and other fields of science are also represented. Nearly 2,200 peer-reviewed journals are available in the database.

 

SciVal

The application of Elsevier's scientific metrics analyzer, which provides assistance in analyzing the performance of researchers, research groups and institutions, identifying institutional strengths, exploring research topics, and developing international collaborations. The database can be used after individual registration (or with a previously created username in ScienceDirect / Scopus).

 

Scopus

Expertly curated abstract and citation database. Scopus uniquely combines a comprehensive, expertly curated abstract and citation database with enriched data and linked scholarly literature across a wide variety of disciplines. Scopus quickly finds relevant and authoritative research, identifies experts and provides access to reliable data, metrics and analytical tools.

 

Springer Journals

Springer Nature's full-text multidisciplinary database contains 10 million studies from 1997 to the present day. The content is primarily outstanding in the fields of technical, natural and medical sciences, but the social sciences and other fields of science are also represented. The subscription also includes the option of Open Access publishing in the publisher's more than 1,850 hybrid and more than 600 gold open access journals.

 

Typotex – Interkönyv

Interkönyv is the electronical publishing surface of Typotex since 2009. It offers direct access to more than 600 electronic books, papers and studies in PDF-format.

 

Web of Science

Web of Science (WoS) is the bibliographic database of ISI (Institute for Scientific Information). It provides seamless access to current and retrospective multidisciplinary information from more than 12.000 of the most prestigious, high impact research journals in the world. One of the most up-to-date scientific bibliographic database package.
